Greek Day – Year 4 celebrated their Groovy Greek topic by dressing up as the Ancient Greeks. They enjoyed cooking and then eating a traditional greek feast, including humous and tzatziki. The children really enjoyed trying different foods although there were quite a lot of leftover olives!! The day also involved Greek craft activities and visited the Oracle who read their future.
Counting Conkers – Maths doesn’t get more fun than this! The children in year 4 spent a week bringing into school conkers they had collected. We then estimated the number of conkers and began the tricky task of counting them- of course the children came up with wonderful counting strategies, grouping and regrouping the conkers to make the counting as efficient as possible. There were 5,710 conkers in total!!!
