About Mr Williams
I am thrilled to be teaching in Year 1 this year. I joined Woodmancote School in 2013 after completing a PGCE and an English Literature degree at university.
In my spare time, you’ll most likely find me delving into a good novel. I always have a pile of books waiting for me at home so as soon as one is finished, I’m straight onto the next!

This week in Beech class, the children have been looking at the poem, ‘Froma Railway Carriage’ by Robert Louis Stevenson.
To start the week the children went on an imaginary train ride around the school, stopping at certain spots to note down what they could see from their carriage windows. They had to get their tickets checked by the guard and watch for the green and red flags. When they returned to the classroom we created a map of our journey and wrote a poem about what we saw and heard.
The Polar Express in Beech Class:
Throughout December, The Polar Express rolled into the role play corner of Beech class. To celebrate, the children drank hot chocolate and did some great writing about their journey to the North Pole. Some fantastic pieces of art were painted to show the views from the carriage. They used the golden tickets to board the train and were served by some very enthusiastic waiters and waitresses!
