Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant (1:1)

Woodmancote School is looking to appoint suitably qualified Teaching Assistant to work in our large and dynamic school.

We are looking for someone who has good interpersonal skills, can relate to children, is organised and has the necessary skills to raise self-esteem in a young Key Stage 2 child.

The successful candidate could also have the opportunity to carry out the role of Playworker at our After School club.

Hours:  28.75 hours per week (term time only)

Fixed term contract of 1 year initially.

Grade D (points 11-17) – £17,007 – £18,672 pa pro rata

Pre-school Deputy

Little Chestnuts Pre-school at Woodmancote School is looking for an outstanding Early Years practitioner to Deputise to the Pre-school Leader. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive, energetic, friendly school that prides itself on inclusivity and reflective practice. The successful candidate will have a key role as the Deputy Leader and will:

  • Be an outstanding practitioner with a proven track record in a pre-school
  • Lead the preschool in the Leader’s absence
  • Have at least one years’ experience working in EYFS
  • Have an understanding of the assessment and record keeping needs of an early years setting
  • Be warm and approachable in order to work alongside families effectively to ensure children settle into education.
  • Make learning fun, challenging and inspiring
  • Be proactive in addressing areas of weakness through CPD.
  • Have great interpersonal skills in order to contribute to the team spirit at the preschool.

Caretaker / Handyperson

Woodmancote School is looking to appoint a Caretaker / Handyperson with energy and enthusiasm to maintain the school buildings and site to a good standard.

The Caretaker is required to ensure that the school functions safely and effectively on a daily basis. The role is key to ensuring that all estate and facilities services are available and fit for purpose at all times. The Caretaker is expected to carry out a full range of duties to provide high standards of cleanliness, general security and maintenance of the school premises.

Experience in a similar role would be beneficial but training will be arranged.

Hours:  22.5 per week, all year round

The core hours of work are Mon-Fri: 7.30-9.00am and 3.00-6.00pm, but the successful applicant will be able to offer flexibility, and be able to work outside of these times when the need arises.

Grade E (points 13-19) – £17,391 – £19,446 pa pro rata

The post has a six month probationary period.

Woodpeckers Playworker

Our school is looking for an enthusiastic and well organised Playworker to help at our popular Before and After school Club.  You will need to be passionate about providing stimulating, age related play opportunities for our children and be able to work within a team after school hours.

Essential skills/qualities:

– Experience working with children
– A positive, creative attitude towards children
– An understanding of child protection and safeguarding
– An awareness of basic health and safety issues

Desirable skills / qualities:

– Experience of working in a play setting with children aged 4-11
– Playwork or equivalent qualification level 2 or above
– Paediatric First Aid Qualification
– Food hygiene level 2
– Arts/creative skills

Hours: 3-6pm (Monday-Friday term time only)

Midday Supervisor

We are looking for an enthusiastic Lunchtime Supervisor who enjoys working with children to work as part of our team to ensure that our pupils are safe and secure. The duties will include serving food and supervising the children whilst they eat their lunches and afterwards whilst they are playing outside or inside, depending on the weather.

The successful candidate will be reliable, trustworthy, able to work independently and will be expected to maintain a strong presence around the school, building good relationships with all pupils and encouraging good behaviour to promote a positive lunchtime atmosphere.

The post is for 5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 12.15-1.15pm
