Inter-House Cross Country

To celebrate ‘Being Active’ as part of our Mental Health and Well-Being Week, we had our first inter-house Cross Country event this week. The House Captains were given the challenge of recruiting and selecting two boys and two girls, from each year group, to run for their house. What great work they did!

First, in the morning, girls and boys took part in the Year 1 & 2 race of a quarter of a mile around the school grounds. The effort and commitment from all of the children was excellent and they should all be very proud of their personal achievements.

In the afternoon, it was the turn of the Juniors. Four races took place. Year 3 & 4 children raced for ½ mile and Year 5 & 6 a whole mile! Again, the spirit, positive attitude, resilience, determination and teamwork was evident. It was a pleasure to witness.

The support from the other children was tremendous and their encouragement, cheers and claps really motivated the runners. After the races, we had a medal ceremony in front of all the supporters for the first, second and third placed children.

Well done Nottingham and well done everyone involved. This event will now become a regular fixture in our School Calendar
