In September, our year 6 staff and children, (with additional help from other very kind staff) camped out overnight on the school playing field. For many of the children, it was their first night under canvas, and for some of them it was a first night away from home with friends.
The school’s own supply of tents was supplemented by some tents from home (thank you again, parents, you really helped us out). The children spent a happy afternoon setting up their campsite and had a wonderful time just relaxing, chatting and playing outdoor games. The weather was exceptionally kind and we all enjoyed a glorious warm evening outdoors.
The children were all extremely well behaved – we are all extremely proud of how positive, well-mannered and above all, team spirited you all were, even though you didn’t actually sleep very much.
