Cheltenham Schools Virtual Cross Country – Race 1 – Tuesday 13th October

This week, despite the current restrictions with regards to inter-school sport, ALL of our KS2 children took part in Race 1 of the Cheltenham Schools Virtual Cross Country League. Instead of running at different venues around Cheltenham, we held an afternoon of Year group ‘bubble’ races. Year 5 & 6 ran 1200m and Year 3 & 4 ran 800m.

The results and times of the races have been submitted to MoveMore who are coordinating and comparing the results of all the Cheltenham Schools. After the four races, between now and March 2021, the top ten boys and top ten girls, from across Cheltenham, will represent Cheltenham Schools in the County Final.

The event proved a GREAT success. It was so good to see so many children enjoying sport. ALL the children gave their best and I know they are very excited to be doing it all again on the afternoon of Tuesday 24th November. Medals and Sporting Value wrist bands were awarded. I am sure that some children will be asking for parents to help them practice before the next event!

Unlike previous years, because ALL the children from KS2 have the oportunity to run in the races, we will also be using this as a House KS2 Cross Country Competition too.
