Children’s Mental Health Week – Monday 4th February – Friday 8th February
We have many exciting events planned for this special curriculum week which coincides with the national focus. We have a range of interesting guest speakers coming in to work and speak with the children across all age groups. Workshops will include: Relax kids, Gloucester Rugby’s school wellbeing programme, NSPCC “Speak Out, Stay Safe” programme, Movement Mood Monsters and talks on Building Resilience. This will be in addition to focused and planned sessions/lessons prepared by the class teachers. There will be more information coming out very soon about the individual workshops but in the meantime if you have an interest in promoting positive mental health or think you could contribute to our week please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher or email me directly. We would love to get you involved!
Dates for the diary:
Monday 4th February – Parent & Child Daily Mile!
A Fundraising event for the NSPCC. We will be asking for a minimum contribution of £1 per adult and 50p per child to take part in this fun event. Please do come along and walk, jog or run the daily mile with your child/children. This will take place before and after school. Refreshments will be available!
Thursday 7th February – Relax kids parent information 3:30pm – 4:30pm (Childcare and refreshments available)
Sarah Hawkins will be offering a talk about the Relax Kids programme and sharing some tips on how to help and support your child to relax. She also runs dedicated sessions which she will inform you about. This is a great talk to come to especially for those children who may be suffering with any anxieties, worries, sleep issues, nervousness or confidence etc. Children are welcome to attend with you or they can come to our childcare provision.
Please could you let me know if you are interested in the Relax Kids talk, and if you’ll require childcare, so we can make arrangements to accommodate everyone.
Friday 8th February – Gloucester Rugby School Wellbeing Workshops
Yrs 1-6 will be working with Gloucester Rugby on this date and so we ask that all children come to school in their outdoor PE kits.
Reception classes will be celebrating their “Superhero Resilience” positive mental health topic and will be invited to come to school in a superhero costume. More details to follow from the EYFS team soon.
Don’t forget, do let me know if you are interested in contributing to our week GET IN TOUCH!
