On Thursday 30th January, our team of six children competed in the annual Year 3 & 4 Cheltenham Schools gymnastics competition at Rowan Gymnastics Club. Teams from ten Cheltenham schools took part. After the routines were completed, we were delighted to discover that Zephie was awarded a bronze medal for vault and Izzy and Millie were awarded silver medals for floor. The competition and standard of the gymnastics was very high and our team were simply a credit to Woodmancote School. In fact, we came third overall and picked up the team bronze medal! Well done girls!

A BIG thank you must particularly go to Mrs Burrows for giving up her own time to coach the team to such a high standard. Thank you Mrs Burrows.

Year 1 & 2 Gymnastics Competition

Following on from the success of our Year 3 & 4 team on the previous week, a team of six children represented Woodmancote School in the Year 1 & 2 competition. The girls were competing for our school for the first time and overcame nerves, excitement and a huge viewing audience to simply give their absolute best performances. They were AWESOME. After all nine schools had competed, Matilda & Zoe picked up two bronze medals for their floor routines. I wish they could have all received a medal for their performances but it wasn’t to be…this year!
