Year 6 Residential

Straight after SATs week, a group of Woodmancote staff took our year 6 children to Whitemoor Lakes in Staffordshire for a fantastic week of outdoor pursuits. The children absolutely threw themselves into the activities, and it was delightful to see their combinations of steely determination, nervous anticipation, bold triumph and, on occasion, unbridled glee. The weather was kind, the food was good, and the heated drying room smelled almost exactly like you’d imagine a room full of lake-soaked clothes would smell.

We also took the time to visit the National Memorial Arboretum, which tied in with our World War Two topic, and served as a reminder of how lucky we are. On the visit to the Arboretum, without exception, the children were thoughtful, respectful and extremely well behaved.
